If this is your first time on one of our Wahoo fishing charters, you are in for a fantastic experience. We take care of most of the logistics: the boat, the quality gear, the bait and the local knowledge. A little preparation on your end just makes the day even better. Here is what to take, what to wear, and how to get ready.

Questions to Ask Us Before You Board
A quick chat before the day makes everything run smoothly. Good things to ask include any dietary needs, so let us know in advance; how likely you are to catch, since our skippers know the prime spots; whether you would like to keep your catch or release it; any extra costs; and how long the trip runs, as time is needed for travel and setup.
What to Wear on a Fishing Charter
The season changes things, but a few basics always earn their place:
- A windbreaker jacket
- Wet-weather protective layers
- Gloves
- A hat with a strap
- Polarised sunglasses
In summer, a long-sleeve lightweight shirt is great for UV protection, and pack your swimmers if you fancy a dip.
What Shoes to Wear on a Fishing Charter
Whatever the season, wear good-grip, rubber-soled shoes, with an optional waterproof cover to help keep your feet dry.
What to Bring on a Charter Fishing Trip
A few personal items go a long way:
- Any prescription medication
- Motion-sickness medication
- A drink bottle
- A camera
- A spare pair of socks
- A cooler box for your catch
- Lip balm
- Your preferred sunscreen
We provide hand sanitiser, a first aid kit and life jackets, so the essentials are covered.
Just remember to ask any questions well and truly before the departure date.
