We have, and one of the most memorable was singer and keen fisherman Guy Sebastian, who joined us one autumn as part of a Shimano Fishing promotion. Being a seasoned angler, he had his gear sorted in no time and set his sights on big game fish at one of Sydney’s premier fishing grounds.
Catch of the Day: Blue Marlin
Guy landed an absolute beauty, a 200-kilogram blue marlin. Impressive as that is, it is still well short of the species’ maximum weight of around 900 kilograms. After the photos and media were done, the crew released the fish back into the ocean to fight another day. Blue marlin are also one of the fastest fish in the world, capable of speeds upwards of 80km/h and even 110km/h.
